This gem of a cottage is located just 700 metres from Fiscardo’s harbour and nestles within the pine groves above Emblisi beach. Close to our other villas Gaèta and Roberto, the inviting swimming pool and wide sun terraces offer a great spot for sun worshippers and those seeking complete relaxation, whilst still being close to the attractions of Fiscardo and the beach.

Built on two floors, the front entrance leads into an attractive open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen, which have been decorated in a modern, contemporary style, which is both chic and practical. The pastel shades and muted tones give a bright and airy feel with comfortable furniture that adds to the feeling of comfort. Two sets of French windows lead out onto the wide pool terrace, garden and “al fresco” dining area. Tucked behind the kitchen is an attractive twin bedroom, adjacent to a shower room.

Upstairs is the equally charming master double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Each bedroom has attractive vaulted, colour washed pine ceilings and doors out to either the pool terrace or a balcony from which to admire the panoramic sea views.

The high vaulted, colour washed pine ceilings create a spacious and cool interior whilst the large terrace, makes a delightful location for breakfast in the mornings, as the rising sun illuminates the seascape below across to the Lixouri peninsula which is clearly visible on the horizon.

It is not difficult to see why Lourdas has become one of the most popular beach resorts on the south coast of Kefalonia. Clinging to the shoulder of mount Aenos, whose comforting bulk shelters the south coast from inclement weather and whose lower slopes provide a marvellous vantage point from which to enjoy panoramic sea views. Views which extend over the Ionian sea, to the east, where the Greek island of Zante crouches on the horizon, whilst to the west, the craggy outline of the Liakas peninsula marks the end of the bay. As the villa is set on a slight hill above beach level, there is a fair degree of privacy around the swimming pool and sun terrace. The setting is one of peace and traquility, with a convenient choice of tavernas, bars, shops, boat hire and water sports, just a short stroll along the beach. The villa is built on two flors, in a fresh, contemporary style and whilst it is quite simply furnished, it is very well equipped with every modern convenience. Spartia is a quaint, picturesque village lodged between the folds of gently rolling, verdant hills that makes up the Liakas Peninsula. Blessed with charm, character and charisma the village has a couple of of tavernas, a bakery and small shop or two. The surrounding area is also well known for many excellent, way side restaurants as well as beaches like Trapezaki, St.Thomas and Spartia as well as being close to Kefalonia’s capital city of Argostoli.

As you leave the village on the beach road, a rough, narrow farm track leads you through the cork oak and olive groves to the splendid villa Minos. A number of striking features materialise as you approach. Bold colours that really make the house stand out – yellow ochre painted walls contrast brightly with the rich burgundy tones of the louvered shutter. As you arrive, the eye is drawn to the stunning, vibrant hues of the striking landscape. Clear blue sky, deep blue seas, sparkling clear water in the swimming pool, rich, green rural tranquillity and the dramatic, craggy back-drop of Kefalonia’s Mount Aenos.

The large inviting swimming pool is surrounded by a wide paved terrace which is both secluded and open to those amazing views. The front of the house has a delightful shaded “wrap around” veranda, ideal for “alfresco” living and afternoon naps on a sun lounger !

The style and design of the interior is an eclectic blend of modern comfort with traditional materials such as hardwood, chiselled stone, marble and wrought iron. The capacious lounge and dining area has large sliding doors that allow the light and view to flood in. A beautiful custom made, open plan teak kitchen is equipped to satisfy the most discerning chef, or equally to provide bacon sandwiches for a morning after the night before !

Next to the lounge is an attractive bedroom, with direct access out to the terrace and swimming pool, which is handy for anyone who enjoys a quick dip in the pool before breakfast. A smart marble staircase leads up to a landing with a view ! Doors and windows lead straight out onto the wide sun terrace that adorns the front of the building, as do the two bedrooms on the first floor. Both of these have their own private balconies as well. The fourth bedroom is a discreet annexe, set amidst the vineyard, in the garden just 15 metres from the house. Self contained with its own en-suite and patio with the same delightful views. There is an extra charge of 250 euros per week if this bedroom is required.
