Entrance to the villa brings you into an open-plan kitchen area which is set in between the dining and living area. Maintaining the castle theme, the dining area has a splendid, solid wood, round table, set in the middle of one of the hexagonal “turrets”. On the left, the other “turret” houses a smart, modern, lounge area with inviting sofas around a low coffee table and stone fireplace. Two sets of patio doors lead out to a shaded hexagonal shaped, pavilion, complete with a comfortable outdoor suite and “al fresco” dining area. Upstairs the bright, attractive bedrooms feature high, exposed pine beamed ceilings, en-suite bath or shower rooms and private balconies or a terrace with stunning sea views. Many of our guests find that two weeks in Estiasi is just not enough !

Perched on the shoulder of the mountain, Leonidas is a revered member of just a limited handful of luxury villas that hug the upper contours of the resort of Old Skala. The first striking feature that becomes immediately apparent is the superb, large, iridescent, infinity-edged swimming pool, extending across almost the entire frontage of the villa and an abundant terrace on which to soak up the sun and admire those arresting views over the Ionian Sea to the Greek mainland, shimmering on the horizon. Off to the left hand side is a hexagonal shaped indoor dining area, again with patio doors out to the swimming pool terrace. On the far right is the ground floor bedroom, which is great for anyone who does not like steps and perhaps enjoys just being a few steps away from that delightful swimming pool.

Upstairs is again an inspiration, with three beautifully appointed bedrooms. All have high exposed pine beamed ceilings with individual terraces or balconies and panoramic sea views. The master suite is worthy of special mention as it’s shaded, hexagonal shaped, pavilion style private terrace, is the perfect vantage spot, from where its fortunate occupants can chill out over a frosted glass of the local Robola wine of Kefalonia or catch up on that ubiquitous holiday novel !

The hillside on which the villa sits, is at the head of a valley in an area known as Ratzakli on Keflonia. To the east is the laid back beach resort of Katelios with a good selection of fish tavernas on the water’s edge. To the west, bordering several kilometres of sandy beach, is the more cosmopolitan resort of Skala. Right in the middle, between these two coastal towns and just below villa Stafida, is Kefalonia’s renowned turtle nesting beach of Mounda or Kaminia.

Tucked in amongst the wild olive and cypress trees, close to Old Skala, Villa Stafida is an oasis of calm and decadent indulgence. First impressions as you approach the property is that it is more of a mansion than a holiday home. Your attention, although distracted by the view, is soon drawn to the large infinity edged swimming pool, surrounded by an expanse of terrace with accommodating sun loungers just waiting to welcome you. A wide shaded veranda with comfortable sofas, whose cushions just seem to be inviting you to sink in, runs the full width of the villa. Designed and built in a fashion that effortlessly blends traditional stone facades with ultra modern, cool interiors, the villa will appeal to those seeking a high degree of comfort and style. The lounge, kitchen and dining areas are open plan, with a stunning Italian designed, kitchen with black granite work tops as the focal point at the centre of the villa. Three sets of sliding patio doors lead out to the shaded veranda, pool terrace and outdoor “al fresco” dining area. The low level, white lounge suite is at the far end, again with easy access to the outside and with great views from the entire room. All four tastefully furnished bedrooms are upstairs. They all face the sea and have been cleverly designed so that the beds in each room face the balcony doors and the view beyond. One of the most attractive features of these rooms are the high exposed pine beamed ceilings and individual balconies with panoramic sea views.

Spartia is a quaint, picturesque village lodged between the folds of gently rolling, verdant hills that makes up the Liakas Peninsula. Blessed with charm, character and charisma the village has a couple of of tavernas, a bakery and small shop or two. The surrounding area is also well known for many excellent, way side restaurants as well as beaches like Trapezaki, St.Thomas and Spartia as well as being close to Kefalonia’s capital city of Argostoli.

As you leave the village on the beach road, a rough, narrow farm track leads you through the cork oak and olive groves to the splendid villa Minos. A number of striking features materialise as you approach. Bold colours that really make the house stand out – yellow ochre painted walls contrast brightly with the rich burgundy tones of the louvered shutter. As you arrive, the eye is drawn to the stunning, vibrant hues of the striking landscape. Clear blue sky, deep blue seas, sparkling clear water in the swimming pool, rich, green rural tranquillity and the dramatic, craggy back-drop of Kefalonia’s Mount Aenos.

The large inviting swimming pool is surrounded by a wide paved terrace which is both secluded and open to those amazing views. The front of the house has a delightful shaded “wrap around” veranda, ideal for “alfresco” living and afternoon naps on a sun lounger !

The style and design of the interior is an eclectic blend of modern comfort with traditional materials such as hardwood, chiselled stone, marble and wrought iron. The capacious lounge and dining area has large sliding doors that allow the light and view to flood in. A beautiful custom made, open plan teak kitchen is equipped to satisfy the most discerning chef, or equally to provide bacon sandwiches for a morning after the night before !

Next to the lounge is an attractive bedroom, with direct access out to the terrace and swimming pool, which is handy for anyone who enjoys a quick dip in the pool before breakfast. A smart marble staircase leads up to a landing with a view ! Doors and windows lead straight out onto the wide sun terrace that adorns the front of the building, as do the two bedrooms on the first floor. Both of these have their own private balconies as well. The fourth bedroom is a discreet annexe, set amidst the vineyard, in the garden just 15 metres from the house. Self contained with its own en-suite and patio with the same delightful views. There is an extra charge of 250 euros per week if this bedroom is required.
