Pernari is a wonderfully designed, rustic chic, Greek stone cottage perched on the lower slopes above the resort of Skala, with extraordinary panoramic sea views.

Clinging to the lower contours of Old Skala, in a well exposed position facing south, Pernari is part of just a small cluster of quality villas that make up this privileged community. Tucked in amongst the wild, cork oak trees, this home is a real tribute to the architects skill. The “beehive” inspired pattern, of joining two hexagonal shaped structures together, creates the ideal shape to take advantage of the sunlight and those breath-taking views. The use of contemporary design matched with traditional materials, such as stone, hardwood, leather and wrought iron have been skilfully balanced to produce a bright, yet cosy home. Vaulted, exposed pine ceilings add space and light with well placed windows and doors completing the task. One of the most striking features, apart from those magnificent sea views across to nearby Greek islands, is the superb, wide sun terrace bordering the large shimmering, infinity edged swimming pool.

As with all the villas in the resort of Old Skala, the concept of outdoor living is a key factor in the layout of villa Pernari and as mentioned, a number of well placed windows and doors allow both easy access to these areas and ensure that those captivating views are not forgotten. Entrance to the villa is up a short flight of steps to the front door, which brings you directly into the open plan, kitchen and dining area. Adjacent, is a modern lounge area with low level, inviting leather sofas around a coffee table and cosy fireplace. Three sets of patio doors lead out to the pool terrace and “al-fresco” dining area. Just beyond the lounge, is a delightful twin bedroom, with doors out to the pool terrace. Upstairs, a pair of hexagons host two, well appointed bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with private balconies and sea view. Villa Pernari is an absolute delight, and as one would expect from a property designed by an architect, “it’s damn near perfect”
